Deuterman Law Group Promotes Robin Henley to Director of HR

(Greensboro, N.C., October 7, 2008) – Robin Henley, a part-time legal assistant with the Deuterman Law Group since 2006, has been hired as the company’s first director of human resources.

Henley will oversee employee hiring, training, continuing education for the staff, benefits and other HR functions. In addition, she will head recruiting for the growing Greensboro law firm, which has doubled in size since its founding in 2003.

In her role as HR director, Henley will act as a liaison between community groups and the Deuterman Law Group, as she seeks more opportunities for community involvement for the company and its employees.

“One of the biggest challenges that companies face as they grow is losing unity and that team atmosphere you find in smaller businesses,” she said. “A big part of my job will be ensuring the Deuterman Law Group remains a team, even as we grow as a company. “

Henley, a Greensboro native, is a graduate of Grimsley High School and UNCG with a degree in communication studies.

After college, she left the Triad for seven years and moved to Chicago, where she worked in project management and customer service for Solar Communications, a printing company. Upon her return to Greensboro three years ago, she worked in recruiting for a staffing company and most recently as operations manager for Gold’s Gym in Greensboro and High Point.

As a legal assistant for the Deuterman Law Group, Henley worked with medical providers on behalf of the firm’s injured clients. In her new job in human resources, Henley will be drawing on her past professional experience, as well as her college education in communication and public speaking.

“This new job takes all of the things that I’ve enjoyed doing in all of the other positions I’ve held and puts them under one umbrella,” she said. “Plus there are some new things to learn, so it also adds another challenge.”

Henley is a past member of the Greensboro Jaycees, and she was Greensboro’s Junior Miss in 1990. Recently, she has become active in Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), a cause that the Deuterman Law Group also supports.

Henley and her husband, Scott, live in Greensboro. They have two children.
