Deuterman Law Group launches new public education campaign

(Greensboro, N.C., July 11, 2007) – The Deuterman Law Group, a Greensboro firm specializing in workers’ compensation and Social Security disability cases, today unveiled a new Web site that is focused on educating injured people about their rights under the law.

The Web site supports a new educational campaign that clears up misconceptions about workers’ compensation and Social Security disability claims. The Deuterman Law Group began airing a series of informative public-service announcements on Triad television networks last month.

“Unfortunately, it can be difficult for people to learn what their rights are when they’ve been injured. There’s a lot of misinformation out there regarding workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability, some of it propagated by insurance companies and employers,” said Daniel L. Deuterman, president of the Deuterman Law Group. “When we meet new clients and potential clients, we try to fill in the gaps, counter the misinformation, answer all their questions and educate them about their rights. Our PSAs and our new Web site are an extension of that.”

The redesigned law firm Web site at www.deutermanlaw.com provides step-by-step information about filing a workers’ compensation or Social Security disability claim. It also includes easy-to-understand primers on the most common types of disabling personal injuries, including construction mishaps, car accidents and occupational diseases.

In addition, the Web site answers the questions most injured people have about workers’ compensation, Social Security disability and personal injury claims in its extensive FAQ section.

The Web site includes a video library of four public-service announcements that the Deuterman Law Group has sponsored and is airing on television stations throughout the Triad. Two PSAs are about workers’ compensation laws in North Carolina and include information about what types of injuries are covered and benefits available to injured workers in the state. The other two PSAs provide information about Social Security Disability claims and include information about eligibility and the fees that attorneys can collect in such cases. The PSAs may be viewed online at http://www.deutermanlaw.com/videos.asp

The new Web site and education campaign reflect the Deuterman Law Group’s commitment to providing information, as well as representation to injured workers.

A year ago, the law firm launched the North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law Blog, which allows for robust dialogue among attorneys, clients and the public. The North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law Blog includes specific sections for clients and attorneys. Blog postings focus on a variety of topics, including workers’ compensation reform, Social Security Disability claims, resources for injured workers, best practices for attorneys, ethics and news.

The Deuterman Law Group is also a member of InjuryBoard, the first online comprehensive personal injury resource and blog network. In addition, the firm has sponsored a series of workshops on workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability for Latino workers and people with HIV/AIDS.

“During my years of practice in this field, it’s become clear to me that people have a lot of questions about workers’ compensation, Social Security and how the laws apply to them,” Deuterman said. “We want to be an educational resource for our clients and the general public. The law works best when people are informed of their rights.
